2021 EMERGENCY EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

7.2 Earthquake Hits Haiti…

Over the weekend, Haiti was hit by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake that crumbled homes and buildings and killed more than 1,200 people.

Rescuers are still working to find survivors amid the rubble. The death count is expected to rise.

More than a decade ago, a similar quake left an estimated 220,000 dead, more than 1 million people displaced and roughly 300,000 injured. This event is what sparked our passion for Haiti and Cite Soleil, so the reoccurrence of this tragedy hits close to home! We are thankful that we have been able to talk to our program director in Haiti, Kervens, and he reported that so far our students and staff are safe. However, several have family members that were killed or are still missing in the rubble. The need for tents, food, and water is dire.

As a grassroots organization, we have strategized with our team in Haiti the BEST and most sustainable way to provide relief with the resources available.

In response to this tragedy Our Haitian staff is mobilizing a team with our students and mentors to bring relief to the most impacted areas. Food, water, tents, love and encouragement is on its way!

As a small organization with no overhead we are happy to report 100% of funds will be directly used for relief efforts in Haiti- please put "Earthquake 2021" in memo box. Anything helps!
